We had a great night last night hanging with the guys from Urbansnake up at Wild Spirits on the far upper east side of New York City. Urbansnake is a no nonsense metal band from the Bronx and Wild Spirits is a no nonsense music venue. Of course, the camera was rollin. Look for the video podcast on this site soon.
We’ve been gone far too long here on the Flow Music Mix. But we’re back now with some of the most excellent original independent music from around the globe.

Sorry for the delays on the next Flow Music Mix audio podcast. Busy, busy, busy. But it will be ready very soon. I’ve got a very nice representation of artists so the mix will probably be closer to an hour long.
In other news, I recently shot a pair of shows that featured some really excellent artists, including Kirsten Thien, C-Will and Sophia Ramos.
It’s all good, as they. So I guarantee that your patience will pay off
Samantha Murphy was one of the first artists that I made a connection with as a result of podcasting. Her enthusiasm for creativity was evident in the quality of the cuts on her album, Somewhere Between Starving and Stardom. I was lucky to be able to catch her recent solo acoustic performance at Rockwood Music Hall. Samantha filled the room with sound and emotion, much to the delight of the folks who were in attendance. Thanks to the old vid camera, you can be in attendance for a few songs from her set.
This is an audio simulcast of Episode #10 of Flow Video: On Location with Samantha Murphy. Samantha played a wonderful set at Rockwood Music Hall while in the midst of a tour around the U.S. Listen in to hear this excellent solo acoustic performance.

Samantha Murphy is an extremely talented singer, songwriter and guitar player who exudes emotion in every note of her songs. Born in Hawaii to Australian parents, Samantha practically grew up in the music industry, singing in her family’s band, The Murphys. Now a solo artist, Samantha has opened for Five for Fighting, Steve Poltz and many others. She has her own Podcast called SMtv that features a different indie artist each week. Samantha is currently touring the United States in support of her CD titled, Somewhere Between Starving and Stardom. Keep up with Samantha’s travels and get lots more information on her website at www.samanthamurphy.com.

You may have noticed that we’ve been replacing the on page QuickTime player with a new flash player. This flash player is courtesy of Google Video. I’ve been uploading all video episodes to their free service and then embedding the Google Video player into the site. This represents a great advantage over embedding QuickTime since many more browsers will support the Flash player. Another cool advantage of integrating Google Video is the fact that you can grab the same snippets of code that I’m using and put these players on your site. Yes, that’s totally okay and I strongly encourage it. Find all of our shareable videos on Google Video by following this link.
