Jason Yudoff is a man who has the funk. Jason and his band The New Hotness have just released a new CD titled Jason Yudoff & The New Hotness LIVE at The Cutting Room. Jason slams the keys upfront while the rest of the crew holds down the beat and raises the heat. If you’re into piano driven rock, pop and funk then you should definitely give Jason and Co. a listen. Find out more about Jason on his website at www.jasonyudoff.com or be his friend on MySpace.
We’re on location with New Jersey based alternative rock band Fairmont. They braved the New York City transit strike to play a slammin set at Arlenes Grocery. The turnout was light but we were there to capture all of the hard rockin fun.
This is an audio simulcast of Episode #7 of Flow Video: On Location featuring Fairmont playing at Arlenes Grocery on the Lower East Side of New York City. Have a listen for some post punk indie alternative rock.

New Jersey based alternative rock band Fairmont is not cool by their own admission. But they are bringing it hard in 2006. They’re supporting a full length CD titled Hell Is Other People and they’ve got a tour of the northeast scheduled until early March. Take a few moments why don’t you to check out their alt-rock/indie/post punk sounds.

Hey folks. Have heard from a few people that the streaming of the videos in the browser ain’t so hot. I’ve tried it myself and it’s barely acceptable on my broadband connection. My file hosting service, Libsyn, is relatively new and they’re struggling to meet the ever increasing demand for mobile entertainment generated by loonie tunes like us. They know about the issue and they are bringing more bandwidth online real soon. We’re going to hang in there with these folks as we’re sure it’s going to get better soon. For the moment, the best way to get the content is to subscribe or use the download link in each post.
In other news, we filmed a great performance by Jody Shelton at Mercury Lounge last night. Look for that on Flow coming up in the near future.

He’s a man, he’s a myth, he’s a legend. Brother Love takes the meaning of the word performer to a whole new level. His guitar driven pop/rock songs combine elements of funk and soul to create a very exciting and original sound. Brother Love is currently supporting his full length CD, Album Of The Year, which is available through CD Baby, iTunes and MP3 Tunes to name a few. Keep tabs on Brolo at his website at http://www.brotherloverocks.com.

Simply click on the flash player within each post and the movie should start playing. If you’re on a DSL or higher connection then this shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re on a dial up connection then this process will take a very long time. The latest version of Adobe Flash which is a free download from Adobe, is required to view these videos. The newest video compression codecs allow us to display high quality videos at reasonable file sizes.

That’s a very good question. We’re glad you asked it. We’re presenting audio and video from performances that would not otherwise be heard or seen outside of these New York City clubs. So instead of a small circle of people getting access to great independent music, we’re releasing it to the world. If that’s not music liberation then we don’t know what is.

Flow is a brand new way to distribute music to the masses. Think of us as MTV for the new millenium. The main differences are that we’re on the internet and we actually have music! In other words, Flow features independent music artists via audio and video podcasts that you can subscribe to and consume anytime you like. How’s that for fun?
